Danny is a class act. I wish him the best where ever he lands.

Regardless of what happened over the years, Briere's defensive lapses or hot and cold production or undisciplined penalties, I will always remember him as one of the beacons of hope coming out of the horrible 2006-07 season.

His decision to sign with the Flyers after the disaster the season before signaled that Philadelphia was still a worthy destination. So long, Danny, and thanks for all the fist pumps.

Any chance of him coming back after a season away?

Loved his final OT goal against Carolina. He'll be missed

Never say never...always seems that they will come back.

If Danny was a goalie, I'd guarantee his return

Danny B - keep in touch. Don't play for NYR or PIT. Thanks for the memories and the class.

I'd love him back in Buffalo for a couple years, but if his only criteria for choosing a team is locality to Philly we're probably too far away.

I had the privilege of meeting Danny after a game vs Boston in March of 2012. Fantastic guy and you could tell that what Bill says is spot on. There was a group of kids there (I'd say 20) all with flyers gear on and he just patiently talked to all of them and signed everything they asked. I will miss him on the team and won't forget the 2010 run which he was a huge part of especially vs Montreal and Chicago. Best of luck Danny.

Could be worse. That would help keep him away from New York and those classless Kansas City Penguins.

At this point of his career I think he needs the right combination of linemates - and a clean bill of health - to be productive.

By all accounts he loved it here. People flame on Buffalo, but many players enjoy the area.

This was one of those "you knew it needed to happen, but you didnt want it to happen" situations... If more athletes in all sports were more like Danny then sports would be a whole more tolerable to take...The man is as grounded a person as there is in sports..You will be missed and I think its pretty safe to say that when Danny returns to Philadelphia as a opposing player he will no doubt get the "gagne" treatment...Thank you Danny

As a Sabres fan you could imagine how much I despised the Flyers. When Danny signed with you guys that changed to a degree for me. Having him there for a few years made me able to almost like the Flyers. Drastic change.

With the doors of Château Brière now officially closed, I wonder who's going to step up and foster the next wave of Flyers francophone kids...

Hey Bill,
You are a Scandinavian hockey expert. What is your opinion of Barkov: superstar or just a good two way center? Better than Couturier?

Living in Buffalo, Im very far from a Sabres' fan and was not a fan of Briere the slightest bit. For obvious reasons, all of that changed when he signed with Philly and he turned out to be top of the list for my all-time favorite flyers. Gonna miss that fist pump

Good point.
I'd personally like to stay with Timonen. We could listen to Scandinavian metal all day , plus I'd be taller than him. I don't know that 2nd part has to do with anything, but it probably counts somehow.

Wasn't that building/frat-house home to Lupul, Richards and Upshall back in the day as well?

I think Hartnell might be the last of that group you mentioned (that started with Forsberg, actually) that lives in the city (the Old City section, I think).
